Writing Buddies is a group for writers, based at the The Southampton Old Bowling Green, Southampton.
The group meets on the first Friday of every month except January at 2 pm, for writing related chat and
support, and to listen to the occasional guest speaker. We welcome fiction and non-fiction writers, poets,
playwrights, cartoonists, script writers, copy writers and any other genre you care to mention!
Writing Buddies does not read work out for criticism, as it is not a Writers' Circle, nor does it offer editorial
services. Instead, it offers the chance for aspiring and professional writers to come along and talk about
anything writing related, such as the state of book selling today, editors and how to approach them,
problems with plotting, market news and information, writing courses and associations and anything else
that concerns writers.
We have short talks from guests joining us to add their experience to the chat.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. Membership is £15 and the meetings cost £2. The first
meeting for new members is free.
